OTD Program Goals
Goal 2
I will graduate on-time in December 2025 with my cohort that I started the program with.
Strategy 1: I will pass both Level II fieldworks on the first attempt, while learning what it is like to be an OT.
Strategy 2: I will pass Capstone and gain knowledge from the experience.
Goal 1
I will gain experience in one emerging area of practice by the end of December 2025.
Strategy 1: I will complete a fieldwork or capstone project in an emerging area of practice for occupational therapy.
Strategy 2: I will listen to one podcast per month about emerging areas of practice.
1-year Post Graduation Goal
Goal 1
Within a year of graduation, I will work in a pediatric settings for children with have experienced complex trauma.
Strategy 1: I will complete a fieldwork in a pediatric setting that focuses on sensory processing & integration.
Strategy 2: I will take 3 continuing education courses in new interventions for sensory processing.
Goal 2
Within a year of graduation, I will be able to identify at least one change/adaptation I have made to the organization I work for based on needs.
Strategy 1: I will take time to reflect each week to identify areas of improvement within the clinic.
Strategy 2: I will use creative problem-solving to address the area of improvement even if it requires time outside of work hours.
Goal 1
Within 5 years of graduation, I will have educated at least 2 Level I fieldwork students.
Strategy 1: After a year of practice, I will contact Stacia about being willing to take a Level 1 student.
Strategy 2: I will remain in contact with Xavier OTD through social media.
Goal 2
Within 5 years of graduation, I will have a speciality certification for my desired population.
Strategy 1: I will identify an area of practice that I find interesting, and feel that I need more education.
Strategy 2: I will seek out specialty certifications and discuss pay options with my employer, such as Ayres Sensory Integration (ASI).

I am a proud member of Ohio's Occupational Therapy Association (OOTA) and American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
I am a member of Xavier's Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity (COTAD) and Xavier University Student Occupational Therapy Association (XUSOTA). Previously, I served on the board for XUSOTA as the event coordinator, where I organized fundraisers, events, guest speakers, and more.
